Welcome to Watauga Medical Care!
We are committed to helping our patients successfully overcome their problems with addiction and substance abuse disorders. We provide a friendly, family environment so that our patients feel comfortable when coming to their appointments or coming to participate in group counseling sessions. Our program is patient oriented: we know that all patients are individuals and therefore treatment must be individualized to best focus on their recovery.
Watauga Medical Care is a privately owned, single provider clinic established in January 2012. We are licensed by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
Meet Our Staff
Dr. Edward Crutchfield
Dr. Crutchfield was raised in a small farming community of western Kentucky. He attended medical school at the University of Louisville, graduating with honors in 1994. After his residency was completed, he practiced Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine for many years. He has been Medical Director for a group of urgent care facilities as well as for an emergency department in SW Virginia. He decided in 2011 to dedicate himself to Addiction Medicine and opened Watauga Medical Care in January 2012.

Executive Assistant / Office Manager
Born and raised in Tennessee, Lauren joined the USAF after high school graduation spending four years active duty, security forces. In 2010, after her honorable discharge from the Air Force, she returned home to Tennessee to further her education. She completed her Associate’s degree at NE State and her Bachelor’s at ETSU. She has been with Watauga Medical Care since 2015, continuing her career helping others succeed.
